I agree that it is really all about the process... and it is, most of the time, but that nagging voice of practicality still makes itself heard from time to time, unfortunately! Here is a link to a wonderful tutorial on the needleweaving technique: http://www.workshopontheweb.com/july2001/hilary.pdf
Thanks for stopping by!Kathleenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06235337888646553703noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3079828217879961741.post-30538479717765078472011-06-21T13:21:33.768-04:002011-06-21T13:21:33.768-04:00it's beautiful and the purpose of/for it was f...it's beautiful and the purpose of/for it was first and foremost the process~!

it's all about the process.
having said that i confess that i find that much easier to say then to do and i myself like 'useful' art. i've recently begun to make atc's and one of the reasons i decided to give them a go was because my brain said "why? what are they going to BE? i know (at least at some level) that it's not about that but i have to push myself to create beyond 'utility' and just enjoy the process.

i do like the idea of a journal cover for this colorful piece. can i ask how it was done?

:-)
libbyQlibbyquilterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03360109482795842401noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3079828217879961741.post-53329934540751929452011-05-31T22:37:55.239-04:002011-05-31T22:37:55.239-04:00Hang it...somehow...in the center of a mirror... ...Hang it...somehow...in the center of a mirror... so pretty.graciehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15072832398919429589noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3079828217879961741.post-7740008592456574162011-05-30T07:32:38.472-04:002011-05-30T07:32:38.472-04:00I love this! In answer to what to USE it for, I'd think wall-hanging, or a journal cover for a vintage ledger sized journal, a large cushion cover, OR the center of a quilting/weaving project. Any way you choose to use it, it's a wonderful piece.Sue McGettiganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18006807015011119262noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3079828217879961741.post-28538232043750399462011-05-27T08:21:30.532-04:002011-05-27T08:21:30.532-04:00It's beautiful.
